Guidewire - San Mateo, CA
Senior UI Designer 
Sole UI designer and usability person for an enterprise software company.
Responsible for the UI of Guidewire's three web-based applications and
their underlying platform. Conduct research to understand users and their
needs. Collaborate with product managers and developers to design and build
new features. Champion ways to improve the user experience of Guidewire's
product suite.  

2006 - Present
Giftie Giftie - Redwood City, CA
UI Honcho (Honcha?) 
In cahoots with my husband; conceived, designed, and built an online gift 
registry for friends and families. I did all interaction & graphic design
for the site; also did the bulk of the front-end implementation. 

March, 2008
FanSnap - Palo Alto, CA
Senior Interaction Designer (Contractor)
In one month, helped FanSnap design the user experience for their site,
a search engine for finding event tickets and letting users view them on
an interactive seat map.

Jan - March, 2005
Adify - San Mateo, CA
Senior UI Designer
In three months, designed the 1.0 version of a web-based product that
facilitates self-service online advertising.

2004 - 2005
TiVo - Alviso, CA
Web Interface Designer 
Created user interfaces for TiVo Web-based and PC applications. Led
design through initial concept, prototyping, and implementation. 

* Designed for various platforms and technologies -- Web (HTML, Javascript,
AJAX, CSS), PC, and television. 

* Worked closely with product management to discover and define features
that users value.

* Created wireframes and high-fidelity HTML prototypes to communicate and

Product Manager, User Experience (Contractor)
Responsible for improving the user experience of Spoke's product line, a
web-based enterprise application suite that helps sales professionals
network more effectively. 

* Worked with product managers to define and articulate design goals, user
assumptions, and use cases.

* Developed and iterated low-fidelity and high-fidelity UI mockups for
proposed functionality, assimilating feedback from various stakeholders.

* Researched Spoke's user population and defined features that would help
drive improved usage.

* Created and maintained a style guide for consistent implementation of
design standards.


1999-2001
Kana - Redwood City, CA
Manager, Research and Usability (2000 - 2001)
Initiated, planned, and executed research studies to ensure that Kana 
products met and exceeded user needs. Drew on methods such as field
observation, semi-structured interviews, surveys, paper-based prototype
testing, and usability testing.

* Tailored research studies to individual projects. Generated creative
solutions to accommodate tight budgets and timeframes.

* Drove the process of translating research findings into specific,
practical product recommendations.

* Collaborated with designers and engineers throughout the development

AchieveGlobal (Formerly Zenger Miller) - San Jose, CA
Product Designer, Multimedia Specialist (1995 - 1999)
Project manager and lead designer for the company's first multimedia
product, which went on to win several major industry awards. Managed all
phases of development, including instructional design, interface design,
and user testing. Designed and wrote interactive learning activities.
Acted as the final decision maker for matters of scripting,
interactivity, graphic design, and usability. 

Associate Product Designer (1994 - 1995)
Designed and wrote off-the-shelf classroom training programs that teach
leadership skills in the workplace. Applied an iterative, user-centered
design process requiring a high degree of collaboration and customer
involvement. Course topics included leading meetings, handling change,
managing priorities, coaching, giving constructive feedback, and
providing excellent customer service.
